PUTTING ALL OF THE

PIECES TOGETHER

.

At Wilson, we are eager to begin that journey as a part of Cohort I of the Community Schools Initiative. As a Community School we will  call on members of the school community, from the youth, parents, administrators, teachers, staff and community partners to work collaboratively to improve conditions for learning, achievement, and the wrap around services afforded to communities.

We welcome all of our community partners onboard as we embark on this journey together.

INTEGRATED STUDENT SUPPORTS

Ensure that there are dedicated school site staff member(s) that can coordinate
support programs to address out-of-school learning barriers for
students and families.

Provide staff and information for the Wilson community on available mental and physical health services that support student success.

INTEGRATED STUDENT SUPPORTS

EXPANDED  LEARNING TIME AND OPPORTUNITIES

We want to broaden enrichment activities that emphasize real-world learning and
community problem solving.

We want to strengthen and expand after-school, weekend, and summer programs that provide academic instruction and individualized support.

LEGACY LA

Founded in 2007, Legacy LA is a community based non-profit organization focused on youth development.  Our mission is to make positive interventions in the lives of young people by offering alternatives to gangs and violence.  We build youth's capacity to reach their full potential and equip them with the tools to transform their lives and their community.

Listed below are the Virtual Program offerings for this  fall semester.

FAMILY AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

We want Wilson to function as a neighborhood hub, where there are educational opportunities for
adults and family members to share their stories andserve as equal partners in
promoting student success.

We want to promote interaction among families, administration, and
teachers, so families can be more involved in the decisions about their
children’s education.

COLLABORATIVE LEADERSHIP AND PRACTICES

By using strategies such as site-based
leadership teams and teacher learning communities, we hope to bring together parents, students, teachers, principals, and community
partners to build a culture of professional learning, collective trust,
and shared responsibility
