Movie Review: Titanic

Volume 1; Issue 2; April 2nd, 2019

In 1997, the famous romance/drama film Titanic was released. Leonardo Dicaprio stars as Jack Dawson and Kate Winslet stars as Rose Dewitt. The movie is about an actual historical ship that sinks to the bottom of the ocean. While many escape on life boats, many are still on board as the ship sinks and ultimately perish. To spice things up, the writer of the film added two fictional characters who fall in love as the ship has mounting problems after hitting an iceberg. The film takes place in the Atlantic Ocean from April 14 to April 15, 1912. The ship hits the iceberg due to the watchman’s lack of effort in paying attention. Jack and Rose experience love at first sight and are continually drawn together, but sadly one of them does not survive the sinking of the ship. The movie is still popular to this day. A majority of the audience is female, as this is a romance and focuses on the intense chemistry between the two young lovers..
