Senior College Survey

Volume 1; Issue 3; May 7th, 2019

Journalism students in the class of Ms. Case conducted a survey over the course of a couple of days. Seniors were asked to answer seven multiple choice questions about college. There were questions about what kind of financial assistance the students will use and where they will live while attending college. Based on the responses received, readers will be able to see their peers' responses. Below are the responses of the students in the pie charts forms and a bar graph.

Question 1) Have you gotten any college acceptances?

80.8% (42 students) responses had said they received college acceptances. 19.2% (10 students) had said they haven’t received any college acceptances.

Question 2) If yes, do you have a school in mind?

84.6% (44 students) had said that they did have a school in mind. 15.4% (8 students) had said that they didn’t have a school in mind.

Question 3) Is your major declared or undeclared?

82.7% (43 students) had said their major was Declared. 17.3% (9 students) had said their major was Undeclared.

Question 4) Are you going to an in-state or an out of state school?

98.1% (51 students) had said they are going to an in-state school. 1.9% (1 student) had said they are going out of state.

Question 5) Do you plan to live on-campus or off-campus?

40.4% (21 students) had said they are living on-campus. 40.4% (21 students) had said they are living off-campus.19.2% (10 students) had said they are unsure.

Question 6) How do you plan to pay for college?

67.3% (35 students) had said they will use Scholarships. 36.5% (19 students) had said they will use Loans. 55.8% (29 students) had said they will use Grants. 86.5% (45 students) had said they will use the Financial Aid from their school. 28.8% (15 students) had said their parents will help. 76.9% (40 students) had said they will get a job.

Question 7) Do you feel you’re ready for college?

38.5% (20 students) had said they were ready for college. 32.7% (17 students) had said they weren’t ready. 17.3% (9) had said they were unsure. 11.5% (6 students) had said they might be ready for college.
