The Spirit of Tradition

Learning over 10 cheers with band such as, spell-out, brother Seymour and go big blue, with movements such as, high V-low, V-blades, fists, and kicks. You learn how to follow the rhythm of the music while being sharp with your arms. Drill is all in the arms. we also do a lot of dancing.since every year there are returners there is always someone there to teach you and guide you We also do flags and sabers you learn many techniques such as,  drop spins, flourishes, and various tosses. You learn how to work with others by practicing in groups and working together to fix mistakes. You learn time management because you are at school at least 10 hours a day almost every weekday. You receive an hour of tutoring within the three hours you spend after school because in Drill education comes first. Discipline because once you are on this team you uphold certain expectations such as, having at least a 2.0, always on time to school, and always on your best behavior in school and out of school. You represent Wilson once you are on this team so being the best you is always required. You are constantly involved with the community by being in different parades from El sereno to highland park to eagle rock. You will do a lot of community service such as, campus beautification, help set up before the school year begins, or even just prepare the textbook room for the new school year.

Coach's Message

Coaches quote...

Captain's Message

Drill has taught me so much about time management and discipline. Having the support of not only my coaches, but my team made my high school experience amazing. No matter where life takes me, Drill will forever be a part of me.

- Destiny A. | Class of 2018 -

Vision

English Language Arts encourages students to find their “voices” as they collaborate with world literature and complex texts. The study of English further develops their communication skills and cultural expression.  Students reflect rigorous critical-thinking at all levels of literacy from English Learners to students with special needs and to IB “Diploma Programme” participants.

Mission

Our mission is to provide a quality arts and educational experience that is creative and challenging to all students who have an interest or passion for the arts.  The integration of an education which supports the A-G requirements for college admission and a visual and performing arts theme will provide opportunities to increase student engagement and participation, promote the arts as an essential part of life by making connections to student life experiences and global issues, to promote visual and artistic literacy and create a lifelong passion for the arts.
