Wilson High School Family,

It gives me great pleasure to serve the El Sereno and City Terrace communities as the principal of this wonderful school. Wilson High School is committed to ensuring that we provide instruction that is rigorous, equitable, and prepares our students to college and career ready.

As you know, Wilson High School has some of the most dedicated students, faculty, staff, students, and families. The traditions at Wilson are rich, to which those traditions have fostered success, our history, and continue to provide the framework for our success.

At Wilson, students are at the forefront of everything we do! They will graduate college and career ready, along with being an individual that is an integral facet of our community, respectful, and dedicated to personal growth and development. We also have partnered with East Los Angeles Community College (ELAC) to have our students participate in Dual Enrollment courses. We also ensure that students enroll in A-G required courses, along with Advanced Placement (AP) courses.

As an International Baccalaureate School, we provide our students with a robust instructional program that focuses on ensuring that our students continue to succeed in the international standard. We are also the only AVID National Demonstration site in LAUSD. Our AVID program fosters a sense of community, along with developing students’ skills to succeed.

The 3 Small Learning Communities at Wilson High School, not only provide a rigorous program, but also build a sense community and personalize instruction. Each SLC has a pathway that guides students and integrates an instructional focus. Our SLCs are:

Science, Technology, Engineering,  And  Math - Urban Planning (STEAM UP)

Students in this pathway have opportunities

to enter the fields within STEAM and                          Urban Planning.

Health, Entrepreneurship, and Arts

Resulting in Transformation (HEART)

Students in this pathway have opportunities
to enter the fields of Health, become
Entrepreneurs, and participate in the arts.

Firefighter Academy

Police Academy
Administration of  Justice and Law

Students in these pathways can enter the
fields Firefighting,  Law Enforcement, or
Administration of Justice. We have a full
functioning courtroom to provide students
with opportunities, such as teen court.  As part

of our partnership with LAFD, LAPD, and LASPD, we have two resident officers to support and provide our students with real-life experiences

Sports are an integral component of our school climate and culture. Mighty Mules can participate in the following sports programs:

● Football
● Baseball
● Basketball ● Tennis
● Track
● Cross Country
● Soccer ● Softball ● Swim ● Cheer ● Drill
● Band

Wilson is the beacon on the hill, given our proximity and due to the high standards and rigorous instruction and our respect for tradition and honor. I strongly believe in the instructional and athletic programs, along with our preparation of students who are college and career ready.

Proud Principal
