The Junior Achievement of Southern California had been given the opportunity to offer 5 students and 2 alternates scholarships on behalf of Delta Air Lines. Recycling Organization

Starting today (First day only) We are now taking recycling EVERYDAY during BIC. Bring your recyclables to the front of the MPR during 1st or 5th period everyday. Your recycling efforts will help students get college credit from Ohio state, a big ten school. That is correct college credit, three semester units. So far we have raised enough money to give two students college credit. Please encourage recycling, help our planet and help students with college credit.

Makers club

Attention all students, there is a new club at Wilson high school. "The makers club", and we meet every Thursday after school in room 100. We will be creating, designing, making and doing whatever you would like to create. You can paint, draw, create websites, do robotics, create music, learn electronics, create games, learn coding, learn 3d animation, create virtual reality, do 3d printing and more. Today and next week we will be making slime for Valentines and preparing for our first annual egg drop competition. So much to do, come join the fun today after school in room 100 by the TC's.

Washington University in St. Louis is offering a High School Scholars Program where students have the opportunity to enroll in courses for credit and study alongside with college graduates. Scholars live on campus, participate in college readiness seminars, academic support groups, and social events. There are three sessions. Current sophomore or juniors with a minimum GPA of 3.3, a combined SAT score of at least 1200 or an ACT score of at least 25. Washington University also offers High School Summer Institutes where they offer noncredit classes that explores specialized interests such as Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, Creative Writing, Humanities, Global Leadership, Environmental Studies, and Philosophy, Neuroscience, and Psychology. The Summer Institutes is available to current freshman, sophomores, or juniors with a minimum GPA of 3.3.

If you are unable to make to the first day, Brown University will also be at the Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies on Tuesday, October 16th at 7:00 PM. For those interested in applying to Brown, Brown will offer applicants the opportunity to request an interview by choosing to “opt-in” via the Brown applicant portal or students may choose to upload a short video testimonial to tell Brown about themselves. Occidental College Upward Bound will be here On Wednesday Oct 3rd ( all day, in the library) to introduce their TRIO program. Interested 9th and 10th grade English teachers can sign up to bring their class to this presentation by emailing me their name, period and student count for that period. Attention 9th graders: The PSAT is next week Oct 10th, if you wish to take the PSAT you must register by paying $16 in the student store by this Friday October 5th. All 10th and 11th graders should be studying using their PSAT study guide, the test is free to all 10th and 11th graders.

Students, Duke University will have admission officers presenting information and answering questions about their university, on September 25th at the Hilton Pasadena at 7:00 PM. For more information, visit the bulletin board near Ms. Hailey’s office. Reminder to students applying for Quest Bridge, the deadline is approaching soon. The deadline is this Thursday, September 27th. Seniors, Ms. G will be hosting a Private School Workshop this Thursday, September 27th, during 4th period in the College Corner. On September 28th, the University of San Francisco is visiting Wilson’s College Corner at 11:30 am. On Sunday September 30th M.I.T will be at Polytechnic School Auditorium in Pasadena to discuss life at M.I.T, academics, financial aid and how to apply.

Ayyy yo Wilson. It's ya boi, Japanese Animation Club, reminding you that we have our Monday meeting in Ms. Wang's classroom in room 123.
